2018 was a good reading year for me, with 163 books read. I have always carried out “programmes” of reading particular kinds of things, and this year had lots of them:
Children’s fiction
Deep Ecology
Contemporary Philosophy and Political Theory
Japanese Fiction
Twentieth Century Plays
Contemporary Hard Science Fiction
Science Fiction Stories
I also managed to read a lot of books that had been on my list for many years, which is always satisfying. A pilgrimage to Foyles bookshop in London in September, the first in years, helped with that.
During that trip, I also for the first time met some online contacts. The 2019 Science Fiction Convention will be held here in Dublin, so I look forward to meeting many more contacts in person.
Happy New Year to Everyone!
Happy New Years, Flynn!
Thanks!
